How to Throw a Halloween Party That’s Off the Hook
Throwing a Halloween party is one of the most enjoyable things to do as everything about the Holiday calls for a celebration. With all the costumes, candy, decorations and people looking to have a good time, a Halloween party is bound to become a memorable event for all. Like all parties, however, a Halloween bash can still turn out a disaster if done incorrectly. To ensure your Halloween party is off the hook, follow these tips and you’ll be in the hot seat of your social circle until the next Halloween party you throw.
Preparation work
Nothing sparks the creativity and imaginativeness of people like picking a theme for your party. In this way you’ve done half the thinking for your lazy guests who would arrive wearing a baseball jersey and saying they’re in a costume. There are so many themes to choose from. You can go with a jungle theme or a time theme like the ‘70s era. It’s easy to come up with a theme; it’s the dressing up that’s hard. Also, pick a good date for your party. Throwing your party on the actual night of Halloween is not a good idea because people generally have family plans on that day. If you’re planning to set it up on a weekday, you risk having fewer people to show up. Lastly, create delightful invites. You can do this the old-fashioned way by sending brochures or snail mail, or you can send a personalized and cool e-vite to all your friends. Don’t forget to announce your theme and let them know what services you’re offering such as drinks and music. The invites must win your guests over because there are plenty of parties during the Halloween season and you’re in for a little competition.
Provide the right ambience
Visuals are the key factor in any party, which is why the venue for your party must be decorated not just beautifully, but it should be aligned with your theme. If you’re going with the traditional spooky theme, make sure to dim the lights, use props like strobe lights and fog machines, and add spiderwebs on the walls. If you’re going for a jungle theme, put lots and lots of fake trees with swings and leaves all over the floor. Add huge stuffed toys of bears, deer and moose. You get the point. Music is very important as well. You’d want your guests to dance and keep partying into the wee hours of the morning, so remember to put upbeat and fun crowd-pleasing music all the time. Also, have different theme-appropriate movies playing in strategic parts of your venue to enhance the mood and theme of your party.
Serve Halloween-inspired food and drinks
Although you can just order pizza and cook some pasta for a Halloween party, your guests may find the food boring and dub you as unimaginative. Intensify the Halloween atmosphere by serving food and drinks inspired by the Halloween festivities. For instance, a sure crowd-pleaser would be pasta shaped like spiders and other insects, gummy worm gelatin shots, and chicken witch fingers. You can also add food coloring to your drinks to make it seem like your guests are drinking forbidden potions. GP
